Saturday April 10th

Yippeeee!! What a grand day it is today. Beautiful. The lakes are as smooth as glass and the sun is out. So, come on, up ya get!

Wednesday 31st March

Yes, it snowed in the night but we are snow free again now (10.55am). Despite the weather, fishing on all lakes is good at the moment. Get wrapped up and come and see us over the Easter Hols!

Sunday 7th March
Well, thanks to a -7 here last night, we have beautiful blue skies, the birds are singing and it is freezing! Well, you cant have everything...apparently!

Thurs 4th March

Delf lake still frozen! The weather is so up and down at the mo but rarely over freezing at night so lakes are struggling to thaw! Fly lake is ok but no bookings will be taken on coarse for the next few weeks. It is a first come first served system till all thawed!

Wednesday 24th Feb
Firstly, Happy Birthday to my Dad! XX
Secondly, we had snow last night and today that has been joined by fog. But its not as bad as it seems. Give us a call for up to the second weather report!

Tuesday 23rd Feb
Still frozen up here. Grrrr, Brrrr!

Sunday 21st Feb

Again it it snowing. All lakes frozen and we have freezing temps.

Friday 19th Feb

The weather is terrible. We had temps of -4 last night and the same is forecast for tonight! Also, 4 inches of snow fell yesterday evening so it is not good at all. Please call from 8am in the morning if you are thinking of setting off to fish Raygill as you may have a wasted journey if the lakes are still frozen.

Thurs 4/2/10

See yesterday but add in an inch of snow and a heavy, cold fog!

Wed 3/2/10
All lakes are frozen AGAIN! -2 outside the lodge at 9.30am so will be a degree or 2 cooler than that on the waters edge! Hopefully its only gonna be a brief freeze this time! Tomorrows forecast...Hot and Sunny!! huh, yeah, right! in barbados!!

Wed 21st Jan
Large coarse lake is fishable but all other lakes are STILL frozen!

Sunday 17th Jan
Small Coarse Lake still frozen solid. Quarry Lake and Delf frozen Solid but you can hear the quarry lake cracking and thawing (quite an eerie sound!) Large coarse lake is fishable for 3 eskimos on 7,8,9 and these pegs were snapped up at 8 this morning. Keep checking back cos in another 24 hours, who knows. 4 degrees outside lodge today.

Fri 15th Jan

Today it is raining. The thaw has started on the large coarse lake but i still dont reckong it will be that fishable for the weekend. Give us a call to check before setting off. Check out the any method info on the latest news page.

Fri 8th Jan

-8 outside the lodge at 930am. Gets up to about -2 but drops to about -10 overnight. All lakes are frozen solid! Sorry! Come up and see us anyway, we are always here!

Mon 4th

Bitterly cold today. At 12pm it was 0 degrees at the lodge but wahey, no snow so far today. May get some in the early hours of Tues according to weather reports but may not too! Hopefully all will be sorted for the weekend on the Delf. Keep checking in.

Sunday 3rd Jan 2010

Outside the lodge, the glass is down to -8. By the top lake water (sorry, ice!) edge its -10. Wrap up, its a bit nippy!!
We are frozen on all 4 lakes today. sorry!

Saturday 2nd Jan 2010
HAPPY NEW YEAR TOYOU ALL
The only fishable lake at the moment is the Quarry Lake for Fly Fishing. All other lakes are solid ice. The low temperatures are hopefully rising slowly and we are hoping to be fishable again soon. It is 0 degrees here at the moment and if we can get a bit of a breeze running through the valley tonight and a cloudy sky, we may be lucky!
But dont hold your breath. I reckon you should ring before setting off.

Sunday 13th September 09

The weather is glorious! Its warm, calm, sunny, perfect. The fly lakes are fishing well but the delf from about 2-7 is fishing its head off. White floating fry or black hoppers seem to do the trick on either lake. Coarse is good but not much feedback from that as matches for 2009 have finished. Come up and see us...Its grand!

Sunday 6th September 09
Well today it is windy but dry! So we are thankful
for that at least! All weekend matches are over for 2009 so all lakes are available to fish all weekend.

Wednesday 19th August 09
Beautiful day. blue sky. lovely.

Sunday 9th August
The weather is glorious today so far (9am)
Blue sky and sunny. Lets hope it stays a while!

Sat 28th Feb

Its not a bad day today. mild, breezy (on the waters edge) and a bit of drizzle in the air.

Sun 22nd Feb

Thought would leave it a week till the weather was better. I was getting depressed doing these awful reports! Its a nice day today. Overcast but fine and mild for February. Pairs match on large coarse lake but lots of room on small lake

Sun 15th Feb

We were right to cancel the match today as the lake is still frozen. Thawing at last though. Mild up here.

Sat 14th Feb

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY. I hope you all remembered to spend loads of money on your loved ones today! I got pizza and chips, chocolates, pink champagne and a lovely card! Aw, nice! Right here we go...Weather! Well, we have decided to CANCEL tomorrows coarse winter league match as the large lake is still frozen.  Tim came up to try and break it but... no chance!
Quarry is ok and has just a little ice on it. here is the large lake ...

Fri 13th Feb

Lovely blue sky today. Quarry lake is fishable but the coarse lakes are still solid. If you are fishing the pairs match this Sunday, please call us on Saturday to check on the lake. Still too solid to be broken.

Wednesday 11th Feb

It is raining here now. (10am) Heavy rain and sleet. Very very cold. Coarse lakes still frozen solid. Call before setting off. Quarry lake is free of ice and ok to fish.

Tues 10th Feb

Large coarse lake is thawing near the spring end but not much at the mo. Still unfishable. Small lake is solid. Delf is solid. Quarry is clear though. Beautiful blue skies today but bitter cold again.

Monday 9th Feb
It has warmed up a little overnight but no thaw yet.
Delf Lake Sunday afternoon. Brrrrrrrrrrr

Sunday 8th Feb

Still frozen up. Quarry lake ok to fish and producing some good blues and browns. Some into double figures. Only abut 4 ft down. Orange is a good colour.

Saturday 7th Feb

Coarse and delf lakes all frozen. please call for more info. MATCH TOMOTRROW ON LARGE LAKE CANCELLED

Friday 6th Feb

Bloody cold! -5 last night and therefore the small and large coarse lakes have frozen. (see below) The Quarry is clear and fishing well. a lovely double figure blue out this a.m. Orange blob about 4 ft down is good.

Hey, not a bad attempt at a picture join! Dont worry I wont give up my day job! Oh no, this is my day job!!

Monday 2nd February

It is pretty miserable up here today. Strong easterly winds and snow. It is sticking but only about 1 inch at the most at the moment (11am)
Very cold. Wrap up warm and pay us a visit. We have a sale on thermal underwear and goretex overboots. Bargains galore!!

Saturday 31st January

The weather today is very cold indeed. We are about 0 degrees outside the lodge but on the waters edge it is a few degrees cooler than that what with the wind chill. Tomorrow we have the 3rd match on the large lake of the winter league. The fly lake is fishing well on shipmans buzzer and bloodworm.

Sunday 2th Jan

The weather today is beautiful. Blue sky and it is warm for the time of year! Unbelievable!

Sunday 11th Jan

The Delf is frozen solid. It is unfishable at the mo. Quarry is ok for fly fishing. Large and small coarse lakes are frozen too but there is room for maybe 6 on the large one in the corner. 4 booked on already (9am).

Sunday 4th Jan

The quarry lake is free of ice and fishing is hard going. The small coarse is frozen solid and probably will be for a week or so. The large coarse is free of ice atht he lodge end. The Delf is fishable and is producing some good numbers of trout. It is very cold up here though so please wrap up! You can always take it off if you are feeling tropical!!

Saturday 3rd January 2009.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! -3 here today!! Brrrrrrrrrr
Before you come up to Raygill please give us a call as at the moment (11am) All the lakes are frozen. The small coarse lake is solid, the Delf is solid, the Quarry is freezing up (we are trying our best to clear it) and the large coarse lake is 3/4 frozen. There is going to be a knock up on the large coarse lake tomorrow freeze permitting.

Sun 30th Nov
Gosh, where did Nov go? It is -3.6 at the lodge today and probably a few degrees colder on the waters edge so you could say its possitively tropical. Can you believe that the fish are topping all over on the large coarse lake. Yes its true! and Knitty North is having a knock up so get up and come along. Lovely day forecast (cold and sunny).

Sunday 23rd Nov

2 days in a row, you are lucky!!
The sun is out and the sky is blue. No, really it is! At 5am this morning we had about 1.5 inches of snow on the ground but it has all gone now (8.45am). It is very cold though and the ground is wet.
Wrap up and come and see us. CHECK OUT THE LATEST NEWS PAGE ABOUT THE OPEN NIGHT!!

Hello, Hello, Hello!!

Today is the 22nd November. What happened? Where has the year gone? Well, here is a weather report for today at lovely Raygill...

Check out our latest news page to see what is happening here on the 4th Dec.

Monday 5th October

Thurs 4th Sept
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELA!!

Well, its the same again! Very wet. Olive and black are working well though on the quarry today.

Wed 3rd Sept

What a miserable blooming day yesterday turned into. Well, today is just the same. It never stopped here all day and all night. Still rainging and cold now at 2pm! Olive and black seem to be the 2 colours of the day (and thats just the cold hands of the anglers!!)

Tues 2nd Sept

Well, it rained a load in the night and today (12.30pm) it is lovely and warm and sunny. Huh what was I saying?!! 1pm=RAIN RAIN RAIN!

Nice day. Yippee!!

Thurs 21st Aug

Well its similar to yesterday . Sunny..Wet..Sunny..Wet!
The fly course for the children went very well. They all had a wonderful 3 days. Check out the pic on the latest news page. We are still fumigating Berb and the lodge after the skunk incident. (see news page!!)

Wednesday 20th August
8.30 am  I can hardly believe that at 7.30 am this morning I was sun bathing on the hill while the dogs had a run!  The rain is pouring down just now but the clouds are moving quickly so it will probably stop in a few minutes.
It is the third day of the children's fly fishing course and it seems to be going very well.  We'll have some photos later.

Tuesday 19th August
8.30 am  Dry at the moment but there has been a series of short showers all morning. The ground is soggy so you need good waterproofs.

Monday 18th August
Light rain and a changeable breeze - not strong enough to call a wind, but enough to ripple the lake.
The junior fishing course starts today. Let's hope the weather doesn't spoil it for them.

Sunday 17th Aug

Well, according to the great weather gurus on Metcheck (see above) it is going to be a nice day. Now dont get too excited! By nice I mean not raining.

Saturday 16th August
It's fine today so far, no rain.  There is very little wind and what there is has changed direction to N E.  I think that's a good sign, isn't it?

Friday 15th Aug

Its sunny. Yes sunny! You remember that thing dont you? the round orange thing in the sky? well its there today. yippee!!

Saturday 9th Aug

Well, just a little bit wet eh?! Dreadful day. Cant get worse, surely...

Friday 8th August. 8.8.8
Today at 9am it is dry, very close (humid) and not I repeat not raining!!
But, it is August, so come dressed for November rains! Those of you who actually noticed that we had no weather report on Wednesday, well done! It was so wet that we decided to cancel Wednesday altogether!

Thursday 7th August
8.30 am  Warm, dry and still - but I said that last time and within an hour it was throwing it down.  So get here very quickly before it does it again

Tuesday 5th August
8.30 am A beautiful morning so far,  warm, sunny and still - not even a ripple on the coarse lake.  Get here quickly before it changes!

Monday 4th August
9 am  Still very mild and dry with a light NW wind. Wet underfoot so was presumably raining during the night.

Sunday 3rd Aug

Dry start again. Rained a lot again in the night.

Saturday 2nd August

It is very changeble today. Windy...Still...Hot and sunny...Cool and cloudy. But..No rain so far.

Friday 1st August
Pinch punch first of the month!! I bet Noah would've been proud of the rain last night. The thunder was so loud over our house Berb thought someone was dragging the wheelie bin down the drive at 3am! It went on for about 15 seconds at a time. The poor night anglers were gone when we arrived at 8 this morning. Hope they didnt get washed away?! Today it is very humid but dry at the moment.

Thursday 31st July

It is a nice start to the day here at Raygill. Rain is forecast for later on in the evening. Hard going still but the rain is helping.

Wednesday 30th July

Wet and very warm here today.

Tuesday 29th July

It rained heavilly in the night and it seems to have refreshed all the lakes. So far the quarry is catching on sinking black fritz. The sun is shining and its warm.

Monday 28th July

The weather today is better for fishing. We have an easterly breeze and it is very overcast (12pm). One chap this morning had 3 in 2 hours on a black suspended buzzer but it has gone a little quiet now. This evening may be the best time to come and see us.
Check out the latest news page and look at all the coarse fish photographed on the QUARRY lake yesterday basking on the top. The trout went deep down due to the heat.

Sunday 27th July

It is 845am here at beautiful Raygill. Another lovely day in paradise! All lakes are hard going because of the warm weather but lets wait and see what the open match does on the large coarse lake. Steady away on the fly with low numbers actually being landed. Its just too warm for them.

Saturday 26th July

Another beautiful day I think. Ang has gone on her jollies to Seahouses so I hope she takes a little sun with her. Yesterday the catch rate was poor as it was very warm but hopefully the rain we had overnight will refresh the fish somewhat. Come and try your luck.

Friday 25th July

Well, I have just managed to drag myself in from outside to do the weather report now at 8pm!!. We have all been sunbathing here at Raygill today! What a beautiful day it's been. The fish seem to have been relaxing too, with poor numbers being caught today. It's just too warm. Lets see what the evening lot have to report when I call them in at 10pm. Speak to you all tomorrow!

Thursday 23rd July

A bit steady today after yesterday's wonderful day's fishing... Pleasant and dry though, so should start to get interesting from around 6ish, when the temperature begins to drop.

Wednesday 22nd July
Its lovely up here. Overcast at times but very warm. The lakes are all fishing ok.

Tuesday 21st July
8.30 am Overcast today with the cloud touching the top of the hills - so there is probably sunshine when it moves. There is hardly any wind, only a slight westerly ripple on the coarse lake

Sunday 20th July

So far today (10am) it is glorious. The sun is shining and the fish are jumping! Lets see what happens!

Saturday 19th July
Weather very changeable today.  It was pouring when I came in an hour ago and now the sun is shining.
The fishing is brilliant on the Quarry Lake.  Someone has caught three blue trout in the space of a couple of hours weighing 8lbs, 9.5lbs and 11.5lbs

Friday 18th July

It's the end of Summer term here in the hills and the start of of the 6 week school summer holidays. Yippeee!! Come on up, the water's fine!

Thursday 17th July
Wet, warm, sunny, thats it really.

Wednesday 16th July

Drizzly and a bit miserable looking. Thats enough about the staff!! The weather is not too bad really for February.

Tuesday 15th July
8.30 am   Although it was drizzling earlier, the sun has just come out and it is looking good - although still overcast. A bit of a west wind.

Monday 14th July

Well, wasnt it grand yesterday? Today it is still warm but very overcast and the occasional spit of rain is appearing. Hopefully it will get brighter this afternoon. Fishing on all lakes is good. Quarry and Delf are producing some nice blue trout and the match was won on the coarse lake with 25lb (see coarse matches).

Sunday 13th July

I am back from my hols now (Amanda) and I have had a very lovely time in Scotland where the weather was very kind to us and the sun shone most days. Unlike here where I hear it has been a bit wet. Well today at the moment up here in Lothersdale it is sunny and warm. A few grey clouds are floating about but there is lots of blue sky. (9.30am)

Saturday 12th July
12.00  Warm, sunny and dry at the moment. Very little wind.

Friday 11th July
9.20 am  Light drizzle, 2 fly anglers already well on their way to double figures on the Delf lake... No coarse anglers just yet, so your favourite peg is STILL available!

Thursday 10th July
8.30 am  Light west wind, showery. Who can say what it's going to be like for the rest of the day ??

Wednesday 9th July
8 am  Sunshine, blue sky, hardly any wind. It's been raining during the night so it is wet underfoot.  We seem to miss all the very heavy downpours yesterday, so perhaps the same will happen today

Tuesday 8th July
8.30 am  Still warm but showery.  More like April weather.  The sun's just come out now but there are rain clouds lurking.

Monday 7th July
8 am  Warm and bright with the sun trying to come through.  Hardly any wind.  Did I hear a severe weather warning for this area on the early news?  Lothersdale has a weather pattern of its own so don't worry!

Sunday 6th July

Warm and wet. Light rain at the moment but more forecast (if you believe that). Fishing is good though with drys and boobys working well. 30lb 2oz won the knock up yesterday on the large coarse lake off peg 6.

Saturday 5th July
No weather today. Forgot. OOPS!! Make your own up.

Friday 4th July

Today it is lovely so far. The fish are jumping on the quarry and the delf and the anglers are having fun. The weather at the moment is dry and sunny with lots of blue sky (12pm). There is the occasional grey cloud floating past but so far we have survived any rain.
My washing is out so it had better not!!!

Wednesday 2nd July
8 am  So far just like yesterday. Blue sky, sunshine, slight NW ripple on the lake.  Absolutely gorgeous!!

Tuesday 1st July
8.30 am  A perfect day. Sunny, warm, very little breeze.  Far too nice to work

 Monday 30th June
8.30 am  Same again.  Overcast, warm and with a slight NW breeze. Fishing on the fly lakes was good yesterday with a variety of flies.  A whopping 15lb + goldie came out last thing. No scales but a couple of good photos (and a witness!)  The coarse match was won by Ken Legg with 34lb 14.

Sunday 29th June
10 am  Still fairly warm and with the same westerly breeze.  The sun is trying to come through just now so it looks good

Saturday 28th June
10 am  So far so good. Overcast but no rain.  Warm with a medium west wind.
The shop looks as if we've been burgled again as Berb takes stock for the Broughton game fair on Sunday.

Friday 27th June

Its not a bad day up here today, a threat of rain but none so far (12pm). The quarry and Delf are both fishing well on green or black lures. Richard webb is catching 2 a chuck at the moment on the delf. He is fed up of fish so came down for a butty early just to have a rest!. Berb is getting geared up for the game fair at Broughton on Sunday so if there is anything you need from the shop, I suggest you either come here quick or get yourself to the game fair (nr skipton) and say hello to him yourself on Sunday.

Thursday 26th June

What an awful day. I mean, could it possibly rain any more???!!
Not good at all. Fish taking on red or green though so apart from the rain it's not all bad!

Wednesday 25th June
8.30 am   Another warm day with a very light NW ripple on the lake. Similar to yesterday when the fishing on the Quarry Lake was good with beetles, daddies and dries.

Tuesday 24th June
8.30 am  Another mild day and there is very little wind, only the slightest ripple on the coarse lake.

Monday 23rd June

Its windy up here again today. Anglers are struggling to cast. Coarse is doing good though with 42lb winning Saturdays knock up (see coarse match page). Bob enjoyed his birthday and we all had birthday cake. Lets see what the rest of the week brings.

Sunday 22nd June

The weather today is very windy with changes from beautiful blue sky to rain! It's Bobs party all day so come and say hello to us and happy birthday to him. Aw, cool.

Saturday 21st June

It was Bobs Birthday yesterday (Aw, ikkle Bob, a year older!!) He is having a party on Sunday at the fishery if you would like to come. There will be no jelly and ice cream, but he will be having a birthday hog with candles on it!  Oh, the weather...Terrible. Wet and wild.

Friday 20th June
Its sunshine and showers here today. No more time to write more, got a kids' party to get ready for. No, not Bernards! Sally. She is having her 8th Birthday party here after school. Woo hoo!! Ah, to be 8 again!

Thursday 19th June

It's Bernard's birthday; pretty windy here. But i can't smell it cause i've got a blocked nose! Outside's quite windy too. All anglers have caught so far using black and green/orange montana's.

Wednesday 18th June
Lovely day (If you like showers).
Its not a bad day at all. Blue skies, sunshine and showers.

Tuesday 17th June

Not bad at all really. Come prepared for anything today and you'll be fine. Dont forget to send your birthday greetings to Bernard on Thurs. He is 21 again (plus a couple more!!)

Monday 16th June
Another lovely morning following last night's rain. Only light wind

Sunday 15th June

It is suposed to be intermittent showers today but the sky is a beautiful blue here (9am) so lets hope they get it wrong again. Open match on large coarse lake but still room for more.

Saturday 14th June
Still fine with a slight breeze.  Trout coming out of the Quarry Lake late last night on boobies.

Friday 13th June

Its not a bad day up here today. Very sunny then very cloudy. A slight breeze is putting a good ripple on the lakes. Check out the latest news page to see the Golden Trout that Bob Baxter caught yesterday. Its superb.

Thursday 12th June

Just as we  expected, the lovely weather was too good to last! It has become a little bit chilly here, but that's great news for the fish who are already making a move around the lakes. Noteably Mr Baxter has lured out a beautiful Goldie out just this morning, using a borrowed 4.5lb line and a fly bought on the premises just 20 mins before the capture!!

Wednesday 11th June
It is another beautiful day here in the hills but a little nippier than it has been.

Tuesday 10th June

Well, its another gorgeous day here in paradise! We all now have our yearly T- Shirt line tans and look red rosy!
The quarry lake was stocked again on Friday and is steady away at the mo.

Monday 9th June
8.30 am  Another fabulous day. Make the most of it.  It will probably be snowing next week!

Sunday 8th June

Philippa is our weather girl today and she says...It is sunny and hot. Blue sky, fluffy clouds, and happiness!

Saturday 7th June
10.30 am  Warm but overcast. Slight ripple

Friday 6th June
10 am  Quite a still morning, Westerly wind,  temperature has dropped slightly - 15 Degrees, and slightly overcast... Looks like it's gonna be a beautiful day

Thursday 5th June
9 am  It's still summer!  Blue skies and only the slightest ripple on the lake

Wednesday 4th June
Its lovely so far today. Warm and sunny. "Get it while its hot"

Tuesday 3rd June
8.30 am  Warm and wet - just light drizzle.  Ripple on the lake from the west.

Monday 2nd June

Friday 4th April

Today (9am) it looks like its gonna be a great day. It has that lovely early summer morning feel about it. Quite a few anglers here already before me this morning and they all say they are catching well. Saturday 29th March

10 am  Bright and sunny with a light SW wind.

Friday 28th March

12.40 - Rainy and windy, but a REAL fisherman wouldn't be looking for the tv times now, he'd be packing his rod into the car and setting out for a challenging day's fishing. Dresscode - Hats and gloves are optional, but worthwhile. See you soon then eh?

Friday 29th February

Its wet and windy here today. A chap has just landed a 22lb pike on the Delf Lake. He is so excited! Pics to follow.

Thursday 28th February

9 am  5.2 degrees and a slight NW breeze. The Quarry is fishing  well just now on big sedges and muddlers (we have sold out of them)

Richard Broadley (who has peviously caught a 20lb trout) landed another huge fish but he had no scales with him. He estimated it also to be around the 20lb mark. He will be sending photos so that we can all  guess the weight!

Thursday/Friday/Saturday (21-23 February)

Sorry, our internet rooter is behaving very badly and it is so expensive to get a new one we are flogging this one to death, hence 3 reports in one as for the last 3 days we have struggled to connect to our site. So, our apologies to you weather fans out there. Normal service will hopefully be resumed shortly!
It is a nice day today (Sat) with a strong wind but it is dry and quite mild (Same as last couple of days.) Last day for Pike anglers today on the delf so we will be restocking that soon for the trout season here at Raygill. Give us a call, we always like to talk to you all out there.

Tuesday 19th February

All lakes frozen today

Monday 18th February

Freezing again  -4.6 degrees and all the lakes except for the end of the large coarse lake (Pegs1 to 11) are frozen at the moment- even the Quarry Lake.  The sun is shining and it is the most beautiful day so some of the ice will probably melt by midday but even as it is now, a sunny spot on the house side of the coarse lake would be the perfect antidote to a Monday morning!

Sunday 17th February

What a beautiful day. Blue sky & sunshine. Last night it was -5.5 degrees but it is up to -0.9 now. The lakes are freezing up slowly but we will squeeze you in somewhere! If you are in the sun it is lovely but in the shade its bitter cold. Come prepared for the cold and you'll be fine.

Tuesday 12th February

Monday 11th February

Hail, Snow, Rain, Wind, (Say this once then repeat over and over and over again all day!)

Friday 1st February

8.30 am  It's down to 2 degrees this morning and with a biting west wind, but the sun is out and the sky is blue. The small coarse lake is sheltered and comparatively warm with fish rising here and there

Thursday 31st January

8.30 am  At the moment we have blue sky and a west wind but an hour ago there was thunder and lightning and a heavy downpour.  Who knows what's coming next?

Woopeee, its fine and mild. Quite windy on the quarry today though.

Tuesday 22nd January

8.30 am  Cold this morning  2 degrees below freezing but hardly any wind and the water has more or less returned to its usual level.  By yesterday afternoon even the car park was flooded. Nearly all the fishing pegs on the coarse lake and the very end of the walkway on the  Quarry lake were under water.

Monday 21st January

8.30 am   Rain again. I've already got soaked through walking over to the fishery.  The coarse lakes are filling up and some of the pegs are under water - thank goodness for the overflow! The Quarry lake hardly ever floods so you can fly fish today if you come completely covered in Goretex.
