The BASC & Raygill Open Day on Sat 21st Aug was a great success. Lots of people turned up to "have a go" at Fishing (fly & coarse) and clay and rifle shooting. Our resident fly and coarse instructors were working hard all day from 10-4 alonside the BASC coaches in shooting. The shop was busy, lots of wonderful venison and game burgers were eaten and on the whole, it was a wonderful day.
Thank you to all who came and supported the event.

20th June
Firstly, Happy Birthday to our best mate Bob. If you come up to Raygill, you will know Bobby Boy. Have a great Day! Well, what a beautiful day! Blue skies, windless, calm, fab! The trout on the fly are into a bit of sparkle at the mo, prefering orange or black fritz and are just under the surface but with this heat today, expect them to dive deeper. The coarse is producing some good size roach up to 4lb and the carp are topping round the rocks.
2nd June
Paul Almond of Accrington landed this beauty Pike on a Green Gold Head on the Delf Lake. It is his personal best weighing in at 13lb 3oz.

PIKE CITY
Check out the viewing tank at the side of the fishery lodge and you may just see a big pike cruising past the glass!
There are about 15 pike in here ranging from 4lb up to 15lb!!

This is Tom holding a 13lber!

Bank Holiday Weekend is almost upon us and the fish are ready to play!
All lakes are open to anglers and we are hoping for some nice weather and great sport. The trout have gone a little deeper down due to the hot weather but are being caught on damsels, buzzers, hares ear and blobs. Evening is a good time for fly fishing at the mo as they are rising then. We are open till 9pm at the moment so you can arrive any time up to 7pm (Dont worry if you come later but you will be charged for 2 hours!)
On the coarse, prawn and maggot seem to be a good combo with some nice carp rising to the bait and bream, tench and perch getting in on the action too!
