On 7th May Tony Gleeson came up to fish on the small coarse lake with his mate Fred. They had a huge haul of assorted fish and lots of carp. Here is the largest of the fish...9lb 9oz off peg 3.
Pics show Fred with the carp.

14 yr old Chris Hanson landed a personal best on his 3rd visit to Raygill on Sunday 4th. It weighed in at about 9lb. He caught it on an Orange Fritz. (picture taken by Stephen john)
BIRD BOB LANDS A BEAUTY ON A WHITE BOOBY (Typical!)
Bob caught a 16lb goldie on the Quarry slabs today
(Sunday 4th May)
He has a pic on his phone so if you want to see it you'll have to come up and see it on that. It's big, said Bob. Ok, Ok,
Kev "Butter Fingers" Longworth tried to land 3 goldies from the same point but failed to do so. In recognition of his humane releasing of fish back into the water, Greenpeace have awarded him a medal! Well Done Kev!!

My apologies to those who read this page earlier (below) in the week, when the fish weighed in at 23lb 2oz. Berb forgot to take off the weight of the net for the story below. oops BUT... it is still a record at 22lb 8oz!
SUNDAY 6TH APRIL
David Hillary from Bolton by Bowland landed the fish of his
dreams on the quarry lake.
27yr old David was fishing from the boat out towards the cliffs on an Olive Bead Eyed Lure on a sinking line about 10ft down when he saw a monster jump out of the water.
Not believing his eyes he waited to see if the fish would jump again and realised that it was on his line. After a struggle getting it to shore, it was weighed and witnessed. Weighing 22lb 8oz, the Golden Trout is a new fishery record.
He was absolutely thrilled to bits. He had caught a 10lb 8oz goldie last week and thought that was good but this one was just amazing. Check out the pics below...
This is the 10lb 8oz from the week before

Here is the new fishery record Goldie at 22lb 8oz

Alistair caught a superb Golden Orfe on the large coarse lake yesterday (Thurs 3rd April).
He was fishing sweetcorn and maggot.
He also had plenty of roach out and was fishing on peg 31.

Joe Wilkinson was fishing on the Quarry Lake on Tuesday with his grandfather and although he only managed to tempt a couple of fish out onto the bank, I think you will agree that they are beauties! The one he is holding was well into double figures, about 18lb. Well done Joe!

The weather turned even more wintry over the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend. Here are a couple of nice pics of Raygill in the snow...
