Take a walk along our short Wildlife & History trail and enjoy the wonderful bird & animal models.
See the breathtaking beauty of Raygill Lakes.
Learn about animals, plants and birds & find out lots of exciting historical facts going back to the last Ice Age. Check out the wild animals that once roamed Raygill and meet our Caveman who will guide you on the hunt.

Take the Wildlife & History Trail or make it more interesting by helping Caveman on the Animal Hunt. Caveman is waiting for you to come and help him find lots of wonderful model birds and animals on this trail. You will get a fun sheet with puzzles and quizzes on it and also if you complete the trail, Caveman will give you a badge or wrist band for doing a great job.

He's Here!!! We have a new resident at Raygill. He is the enemy of our caveman...

cave lion!!! Roooaaarrrrrr!!
he is over 3 metreslong and 1.5 metres high. keep your eyes open for him!
He is roaming around Raygill looking for his dinner! You can come and hunt for him from March 2012.
Below are some pictures of him getting his coat on prior to setting off from the wilds of Halifax to come and live with us. He is the marvellous work of a new model maker from Halifax called Ben Coll. He painstakingly built and painted him especially for you to come and see.

This life size cave lion will be about 3m long (from nose to tail tip) and about 1.5 high!
he will take pride of place on the animal hunt.
picture above shows he has been covered in paper mache over a strong wooden framework.
the picture below shows him wearing his first coat of fibreglass. when he has had his second coat he will be painted .
this is going to be one big scary cave lion!!

Little Leonardo Smith from Skipton absolutely loved the Animal Hunt.It has been going really well and we have already had lots of hunters up and history trail blazers! Hope to see more of you very soon.

Come and see the fish in our viewing tank!
I have placed some bird feeders in the trees by the cafe and the Greenfinch, Goldfinch and Blue Tits/Great Tits are just loving it.
Also, the viewing tank is clearing of algae now and the trout are jumping in there! Get up close to the windows, throw in some fish food and let them splash you.
